When I finally leave this dehumanising (I think) place I wonder how long it will take for me to enjoy Fridays again. Or any day of the week for that matter, since every day is affected by the Friday Threat.
I checked Canberra’s temps today and it’s blistering hot, also tomorrow. Which means the charming “industrial zone” neighbour could come down for the weekend chasing cooler air.
So I am tossing up now whether to go straight to the rest area off the highway in preparation for his arrival, or to do the usual and stay in a carpark nearby until 9.30PM for a driveby to see if it’s safe (literally, health- and stress- and sleep-wise) to stay.
I paid the rent to the family owners yesterday. Am I getting my money’s worth?
The clouds also look foreboding, as the early feelings of a thunderstorm gather. Not showing on the photo as I took this of a different portion of the sky, since there’s a lady across the dirt ‘road’ in another kennel, sorry, garden shed without the garden, sorry, “cabin” – what bullshit – who has a mental illness and might think I was doing something about her. Great place. And yes, the owner family takes her money every fortnight and doesn’t do a thing for her condition. I think that’s borderline criminal.
So much for a duty of care.
