Will the “industrial zone noise” neighbours come down today or not? It’s raining; been overcast all day, and probably is much the same for the wider region. Some very slight rain is forecast for tomorrow, Saturday. They haven’t been down for a short while, and didn’t come down during the school holidays or the long weekend (which meant for safety’s sake I had to stay in the highway rest area anyway).
These are the thoughts that play through the head during the week. Now that the Friday Threat has arrived and there are just hours to go before I leave the garden shed (otherwise known as a cabin, but without the garden) in case they do come down.
But there’s no point in guessing. I have to stay out from 6.30PM tonight until 9.30PM in case they do come down, and I have no way of knowing if they are coming or not. Every Friday. Pack the bags, pack the van, get food organized for two nights and a day-and-a-half living in a highway rest area. If they haven’t come down by 9.30PM there’s a high chance they’re not coming down – though I can’t really relax until late Saturday night or Sunday.
What does the kid ‘manager’ do on a Friday?
Hilarious, isn’t it, in a tragic and harmful way. The kid ‘manager’ has no idea what I have to do. Was never interested – sided immediately and 100% with the noise makers. Ignorance, I think, and arrogance, are in combination the worst imaginable combination of negative character traits. No idea at all.
No managerial qualifications. No experience in prior management. No aptitude for people management (great for grounds management). No knowledge.
So how did he get the job of manager?
Daddy.
Daddy owns the park. So why would Daddy employ someone so unsuited and dangerous to be park manager? A proper manager would require a contract and be strict on its parameters. That would include the times available to be contacted, notwithstanding the laws involved in doing so. A proper manager would question what he’s asked to do if a hint of an alarm went off, because the the proper manager would have the knowledge and experience to hear those alarms. In other words, kid jumps to attention day and night, will do anything, is clueless to question, because he wants his inheritance. It’s an easy-street life. Daddy gave him the path to take – kid wouldn’t know what an authentic life is.
So what do I think of Daddy giving the job to someone who I expect has no managerial qualifications, no experience, no aptitude, no knowledge? Knowledge, at least, of law and managerial principles? To a job that has the power to very seriously impact the lives of residents and tenants?
Reckless.
UPDATE 19th Oct 2024. Looks like I am not going to be driven out of the garden shed, otherwise known as a cabin, without the garden, this weekend. Before doing the driveby at 9.30PM to check, I took the above photo of the days-old supermoon.
