Wednesday 27th November and packed and ready to drive to Canberra. Escaping from the kennel and the dehumanizing locale is an exciting prospect, but even this early I have to take into account the weekend threat of the neighbour coming down and blocking me out of the place to stay to which I am peacefully entitled and pay.
So I look at the weather, and pack for several days. Up in Canberra then, after treatment, I decide whether to drive back which then requires I leave again on Friday night awaiting 9.30PM to know where I’ll be living for the weekend (in the kennel that I pay for or in the rest area on the highway), or whether to stay up around Canberra and wait up there.
Friday 29th November 2024. 5.40PM. It did turn out to be a dilemma. After treatment and sleeping overnight in Canberra, rain appeared heavy on all locations I have saved between and including Canberra and the kennel, otherwise known as a garden shed without the garden, otherwise misleadingly known as a “cabin”. So much rain meant it would be difficult to either travel or stay up there, and yet I’d rather be there until Sunday when the rain would have passed, than stay in a rest area off the highway locally.
But I did come back. Now I’m preparing to leave again until 9.30PM when I figure it is a safe enough bet to come back to the kennel/shed for which I pay rent.
Some shots from Canberra. Dinner on Wednesday night, and ducks and gulls by the lake.
