Scary Laser Treatment Into The Eye

Tomorrow. For the first time. I’ve no idea what to expect except that it usually hurts.

And how’s this for “consent”. A nurse prior to my last treatment – eye injections – mentioned to the treating doctor that I have to sign the consent documents. “After the injection,” said the doctor.

So my eye was injected, and the eye that had bled twice in two months remained untreated this session and just as unable to see as the treated eye. Into another room I was ushered. Someone there, most disinterested, held out an electronic device which I duly signed.

I never saw what was on screen, and couldn’t have if they showed it to me: my eyes had been prepared for treatment with drops, one eye was treated, the other eye terribly compromised from two big bleeds, so I never had a chance.

Driving up tomorrow early in the morning. Massive, wild winds today, so I’ve put it off.

Wish I could put it off forever
